Ingredients for Hot and Sour Shrimps Recipe
Shrimps: 1 lb., cleaned, de-viened and washed
Onions: 2, sliced
Oil
Blend the following to make a smooth paste:
Ginger: 1 small piece
Garlic: 8-10 flakes
Black peppercorns: 3-4
Red chillies: 6
Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
Thick tamarind juice: 1/2 cup or 2 tbsp vinegar
Method of preparing Hot and Sour Shrimps
- Heat the oil and fry the sliced onions in it till golden brown.
- Add the blended masala to it and fry till the oil begins to seperate.
- Then add the shrimps and some water. Add salt to taste and simmer for some time.
- Bring it to a boil.
- Add vinegar if required and boil it, till it is properly done.
- Eat with roti or plain rice.
