Creamy Prawns Curry

Prawns cooked with coconut milk and with spices is very yummy.

Ingredients:

Prawns(cleaned):- 500grams
Coconut milk:- 2 cups
Onion paste:- 1 cup
Ghee:- 2 table spoons
Red chilli powder:- 1 table spoon
Ginger paste:- 1 table spoon
Turmeric powder:- ½ table spoon
Cinnamon:- 1piece
Bay leaves:- 2
Garlic Cloves:- 4
Curry leaves:- 2 stalks
Salt to taste

Procedure:

  1. Add some salt to prawns and wash them well.
  2. Add turmeric powder and keep them aside for 5-10 min.
  3. Take a heavy bottomed pan, heat 1 table spoon of ghee and saute prawns.
  4. Strain prawns, add bay leaves, green cardomoms, cloves and cinnamom and saute them.
  5. Add onion paste to above mixture and fry on medium flame until the paste changes to golden brown .
  6. Add ginger paste and red chilli powder and fry till the oil gets separated.
  7. Add prawns and coconut milk.
  8. Add salt and stir gently.
  9. Mix gently on low flame for 2min.
  10. Add rest of the ghee and cover tightly with a lid.

Serve it with hot plain boiled rice.

Ginger fish recipe

Ingredients:

fish fillets 1/2 kg
sprig spring onion, chopped finely 1
oil 2 tbsp

For Sauce:

grated ginger 3 tsp
garlic flakes 2
soy sauce 2 tsp
vinegar 1 tbsp
water 2 tbsp
sugar 1 tsp
salt 1/4 tsp
red chilli powder 1 tsp
lemon juice 2 tsp
(Make a thin paste of all the ingredients.)

Preparation of Ginger fish:

1.Clean the fillets and make into serving pieces
2.Place it in the baking dish
3.Heat oil in a pan
4.Add the sauce paste into it
5.Simmer for 5 minutes
6.Pour over the fish fillets
7.Garnish with spring onion
8.Bake at 350 degree F for 30 minutes
 
 

Hot and Sour Shrimps Recipe

Ingredients for Hot and Sour Shrimps Recipe

Shrimps: 1 lb., cleaned, de-viened and washed
Onions: 2, sliced
Oil

Blend the following to make a smooth paste:

Ginger: 1 small piece
Garlic: 8-10 flakes
Black peppercorns: 3-4
Red chillies: 6
Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
Thick tamarind juice: 1/2 cup or 2 tbsp vinegar

Method of preparing Hot and Sour Shrimps

  1. Heat the oil and fry the sliced onions in it till golden brown.
  2. Add the blended masala to it and fry till the oil begins to seperate.
  3. Then add the shrimps and some water. Add salt to taste and simmer for some time.
  4. Bring it to a boil.
  5. Add vinegar if required and boil it, till it is properly done.
  6. Eat with roti or plain rice.
